- TG (Teacher’s Guide) close to 820
“Teacher’s Guide” is a teacher’s training program conducted by Communion for National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) initiated by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Bangladesh. Teachers from all over the country joined the training program on how a classroom should be conducted and how different model lessons can be taught in different methods.
Teachers were trained with lesson modules and realistic classroom experience in this program, and it was held in April 2022. In association with the curriculum, different methods were introduced to them. Different methods like Teacher-student interaction, student response, teamwork, classroom environment, student participationetc were focused on. A teacher’s role to the education system, children’s growth and society is immense and the purpose of the program was to make it better for all of us.
- GhoreBoshe Shikhi
In response to Covid-19 education crisis in 2020, Communion developed numerouse-learning courses for the children of Bangladesh. “GhoreBoshe Shikhi” for DPE (The Directorate of Primary Education) under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education in association with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Bangladesh, UNDP and UNICEF was one of the significant projects among them.
The e-learning courses taught by expert teachers delivered “Math and Science” lessons for primary school going students all over the country. Different math and science model lesson, and animated math lesson contents were prepared for the students of grade 1-5 according to their need for each subject in each grade. Starting from December 2020, these course lessons were shown on Bangladesh Television and Sangsad TV till December 2021.
Amongst the eleventh-hour situation of covid-19, children were devoid of education because of uncertainty in everything. The pandemic situation brought the parents to hold their breath on the matter and subjects like math and science are heavy to understand for many children on their own at home. Thanks to the e-learning lessons, children could continue their studies as before with the help of expert teachers.
- Bangabandhu ke Jani
“Bangabandhu ke Jani” is a talk show executed by Communion for DPE (The Directorate of Primary Education) under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education where the host interacts with children and they learn about the father of the nation.
On 15th August 2021, the National Mourning Day and the death anniversary of the father of the nation, a talk show was shown on Sansad TV. In the conversation, the children had been made aware of more than what they were aware about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They had the opportunity to learn and ask questions about the glorious life of the father of the nation and the history of the birth of Bangladesh. As the day reminds us of one of the saddest parts of the history, the assassination of Bangabandhu and his family, the children learned and paid their respect towards him. The show addressed his journey of rising, the liberation war of 1971, the birth of Bangladesh and above all, the importance of knowing their own origin.
