“An ominous knock on the door leading to not returning home”
In 1971, the Pakistan occupation forces and their local collaborators crafted a blue print to demolish the intellect of Bangladesh from the very core. The execution of the terrible crime continued throughout the Liberation war of 1971 and significantly towards the very end of the war. On 14th December of 1971, the country’s brightest of the mind such as renowned doctors, engineers, academicians, journalists, artists, teachers and other distinguished personalities were dragged out of their homes, blindfolded and taken to unknown places and then brutally tortured and murdered. Their bodies, mostly in the state of skull and bones were later discovered at Rayerbazar, Mirpur and a few other killing grounds around the capital.
While observing this day along with the whole nation, Communion pays their highest respect to the Martyred Intellectuals on the 52ndMartyred Intellectuals Day.
